Sierra Overdrive Pro accepts 8 wifi devices simultaneously - currently $49

Sprint offers an unlimited plan for $45 but there's a catch: it's unlimited for the 4g connection. If you use it mostly on 3G, there's a 3 gb cap. Not an issue for us as we rarely hit 3 gb, and any large video files we wait until we hit a free commercial wifi spot. We're generally in 4g areas anyway, and as that network grows...

The overdrive also accepts a 32 gb micro sd card for network storage, and works well with a wireless printer or wifi camera. It also functions while charging, which some do not.

It's now the only net connection we have. With 2 iPads, a laptop we rarely use, and a wifi printer, everything fits into our van., and we have a complete interactive network.

Even if you can't find a good plan like that, you can tether most of your smart phone cell networks to your computer and use it as wifi these days.<br>

Yes, but cell phone data plans usually have prohibitions against tethering. I managed it for some time before receiving a letter advising me if I continued tethering my iPhone, they'd change my plan automatically and I'd lose the unlimited data plan. I merely tethered my iPad to the iPhone for the larger screen ( old eyes). I made the mistake of downloading a video which kicked my usage data up, and the video was too large a res typically for the iPhone. I should have known better lol - it was the jump in data usage which clued them in. So, yes you can tether, but the 4G connection is so much faster, plus one can connect multiple devices to the Hotspot simultaneously. It also takes a 32 gb data card for shared storage. The wireless printer connects as well.

Sprint has announced they are switching their 4g protocol, and that the older 4g devices would continue to work through 2012.&nbsp; I wonder how that effects this?<br>

I'm not sure. Just saw the announcement myself. The device works on Verizon 4g, so they claimed ... We'll have to see.
