I sold my camper van so I could move on to my next build, but for the life of me I can't find anything I like as a replacement. I've gone nearly 3 weeks full time in my truck..

I just can't find anything I like. Was trying to buy a vanagon but most need too much work. I'd still like one but only at a time I can do a full rebuild.

I looked at a class b today that looked like a conversion van and would of made a nice semi stealth camper but the guy took a deposit before I got there..

Grrrrr

The vanagons are really cool and they are loved in certain circles. I have two lady friends who each have one and from their stories, they are real moneypits! After hearing about their experiences, I'll stick with my boring E-150. Sometimes, boring is a good thing :)

Yes I agree they are money pits, hence the reason I'm not touching one unless I have the time, money and a place to rebuild it. I mainly like them for their size. I hate driving a full size around but most smaller vans waste too much space with the front engine.

There may be some good news over the long haul. The new vans from Dodge and Ford should push the price of the older models lower. This should start helping in September when fleets start buying the new models and selling off the old ones.

Of course, there is the issue of upfitting and converting.
