Hi, I need help! I have an older van conversion that has the converter charger on board. I want to add solar. My question is since I have the converter charger, can I simply attach the solar panel directly to the battery to charge it when I am parked? Thanks in advance!!

short answer is No
The solar panel needs to be run through a charge controller. Otherwise the panel will push the voltage of the battery too high and fry it.

yes, attach from the solar charge controller to the battery. Don't worry they play well together. highdesertranger
