solar vs alternator charging

On my last rig I had two alternators. Wired it so one alternator did the starter battery and one did the house batteries. That worked very well with lead acids. But in my current rig I have LiFePo4 and wouldn't do all that again.

All this complexity around alternators makes me wonder if there isn't a better solution

It's not particularly complex. For most people a $25 constant duty solenoid will substantially assist aux battery charging while driving.
