Or place an ad in Craigslist to rent someone's driveway including running a big cord to their outside electric outlet + buy a portable A/C unit. Saw one at Costco for $350 on sale.

My low tech solution is swimming or other cold water soaking to cool the blood. If it's really hot I just go in with my clothes on, then get extra cooling as they slowly dry. Does your dog like to swim? Mine did - couldn't keep him out of the water. In a pinch I once cooled my dog by putting a couple of ice bags on his bed. He happily sat on them and stayed cool. Cost= $3.     ~crofter
