I am experimenting (and having good results)with these inexpensive (for me) $12 for 3 strings lights.

 http://amzn.to/2lf3eiN

Each  string is 10 feet long and each string has 30  300k LEDs (incandescent warm lighting color which I like for relaxing). Each string runs on  a long time on 3 AA batteries. I use Eneloop rechargeable batteries  which I recharge off my 12V battery so these are very cost effective.  I like multiple lighting sources for reliability and energy conservation. They are fine for navigating around in the area.

What I like about them is that with a 3 set I can put a set  under 2 REI Alcove canopies.  I can run them in my trailer and in my Galley. I have bright lighting for all those areas but I enjoy the soft lighting after dinner and when relaxing and bright lighting is not needed.

Nicely done.

I use some red 12v LED rope lighting and use a LED PWM dimmer for it.  All my interior lights have dimmers on them, and can be Aimed/ directed for certain levels of ambient light.

I really dislike a strong light source to be line of sight with my retinas, So hooded goosneck lights are my Choice.

My latest favorite is a Modified 99 cent store gooseneck I added 3 t10 LED bulbs into and put a Dimmer inside of.

I can easily swap in other T10 wedge base LED bulbs.

3 of these LED's on max brightness is a degree or 3 of overkill, but I could fit three in the hood, so I did.
