What makes Xmas special for you?
In the past, present or future?

When John Lennon came out with this song, this became an instant hit and signals the beginning of the Xmas season for me whenever I hear it. Just had that right vibe in harmony and lyrics.
What's yours?
John Lennon music video, Xmas

My other favorite is this Chrissie Hynde ballad.

And no Xmas is complete without taking off to the great white North with Bob &Doug and their 12 days of Xmas.

Brought to you from the land of Santa Claus. :)

Oh, and a Merry Christmas to all.
Peace on Earth and good will to all men.

Merry Christmas Y'all... as long as you're sharing music, this is a perennial favorite. A story/folk song from Bob Gibson & Tom Paxton

We Buddhists prefer to have peace and goodwill toward men all year round, not just once a year. ;)

But happy holiday (whatever holiday you like) to everyone. :)

Watching "Love, Actually" (sadly not on Netflix anymore so didn't get to watch it) and putting on an old Classical Christmas CD

As a kid it was always Christmas when we watched all the black and white Johnny Weismuller Tarzan movies over the Christmas break, a different one every morning.

No decorations any more, no where to store them, except for a stocking my sister gave me. No decorations (no snow) means it doesn't really feel like Christmas

The previous posts along with the thread's title had me think of what these folks contribute to peace and goodwill, all year round... www.wvi.org

Johnny Weissmuller Tarzan, wow, haven't heard or seen that in a while.
Xmas is a state of mind, create your own.
Recently read, one can't find happiness, it comes from within.  :)

OK, time for the obligatory Buddhist Joke:

Q. What did the Buddhist Monk say to the hot dog vendor?
A. Make me one with everything.

Q. What did the hot dog vendor say when the Monk asked for his change?
A. Change comes from within.

Hah! I slay me!

;)

I can certainly get used to the feel of a 70 degree Christmas after being raised in an area where the meteorologists use terms like "blustery conditions", "wind chills below zero", & "lake effect snow", along with four decades of working outside in the stuff. When I wish you a Merry Christmas, it's heartfelt just the same. Merry Christmas :)

I'm spending Christmas sitting in a catatonic state, (retail worker.)

Waldenbound, after I read your posts I then always read your signature with pleasure, and just as often feel the tug towards the door with the thought, where to next. Thank you.

Now I got the Partridge Family stuck in my head!  :p

Ohhh, back in my younger days I was hopelessly in love with Laurie Partridge.

Glad to hear that we've moved beyond the usual selection:  Red or Blue
:p Charlotte

BTW, does this state tax social security?

Oh, you guys are making me laugh now. I swear, retail work is going to make me hate Christmas. It was better when I was just a "casual observer."
Well, this is my last Christmas here in the real world.  :D    :)  ;)
