I was thinking about this when I do my next van build. One of the biggest problems with figuring out the space inside a van is trying to come up with a good bed & seating set up. I see many vans where the bed takes up 50 to 60% of the room.. Next problem once you do that is to be able to find level ground, which can be problematic when boondocking in some areas.

Seems a hammock would fairly easily solve both of these problems, because it will always self level and it can simply be taken down and moved out of the way. Using next to no space when it's taken down.

I was on a boat for a while and we slept in hammocks on it and it was pretty nice but granted it was only for about 2 weeks.

Has anyone tried it in a van?

last year there was a whole discussion of Hammocks, try using the search feature, actually there were two threads me thinks

Yep, there was, I read through it recently and thought it was a cool idea - and the thread even included a video or two... me thinks!

Ahh who would have ever thought to use the search button...

I got one in my van, if you look in my profile in albums you can see it in the kurbmaster interior album, I like it to lay around in, reading, lounging but don't like sleeping in it. Many years ago I travelled around Mexico and Central america and I slept in a hamoc for a year but I had bones that were a little more elastic them...People do it all the time so I don't see why you couldn't get used to it. I think, you do need a very big hammock in order to pull this off.
