I'm looking at a Ford E150 and noticed that it doe NOT have the big vertical beams along the cargo area that one would attach wall panelling to. You can see how it looks in the attached photo.

Is it still possible to attach panelling to the walls of a van like this to finish it? What would be the proper way to do it?

Thanks.

I have seen 1/4" ply bent. Paneling also comes to mind. But my heart asks why no windows? I love my window van and block them out at will.

It doesn't exactally have to be screwed down every square foot.

See that plate that runs around the top of the walls?? Notice how it matches the contours of the bottom, and has a bridge type plate in the middle around the beltline??? These are your screw down points. Quite simple really.

Of course, you could use 2x2's and build a framework that attaches to the framework first, and screw your plywood down to that. (use good glue in addition to screws.)

Good luck and have fun!

I'd consider putting sheets of polyiso insulation in all the open areas and then 1 x 3s as stringers every two feet to be anchor points. But you lose 3/4 of an inch on each wall.
