The title is misleading. According to your post, it is volunteer work that MAY lead to possible chances for paid bid positions. What is a bid position anyway?

West Point is a Corp of Engineer Lake http://www.n-georgia.com/west-point-lake-recreation.html. My wife is a volunteer at West Point Lake. The volunteer work in exchange for water,sewer and electric in exchange for 21 hours of work per week. Or in some cases less hours if job is finished sooner. Jobs include grounds maintenance, gate attendants,etc. The bid jobs require you to be bonded/money handlers. They also work more hours, generally four days on and four days off. Longer hours 10/12 hour days. Higher insurance requirements because you use your own vehicle. Low bidder gets the paying jobs, but I think most start as a volunteer.
