it saddens me to post this but someone asked on another thread.  my best buddy for the last 10 years passed 3 months ago.  there will never be another like him.  best damn buddy I have ever had.  Scout went everywhere with me,  in fact several people told me that he was the luckiest dog alive to have me for a buddy.

I have had only one dog as a companion. When Sophie passed, I couldn't bring myself to have another. I never cared for pets much, now I know why. So sorry for your loss of Scout.

It sounds like scout was definitely a very lucky d-o-g, to have you as his person. And vice versa, they bring us such unconditional love. Looks like a wise spirit in those eyes. My old yellow lab mix, named Outdoor, just turned 15 years this month. He has been with me since he was 3 months. At this point, each additional day is a blessing, and the loss will be heartbreaking.

Scout looks a lot like Mairi, my beautiful black 1/2 border collie who died only a few weeks before I left Happy Camp in 2013. May you meet again!

My heart sank reading this. My buddy, my only family actually, was my cat, who thought he was a dog. Friendliest critter who loved absolutely everyone. He was 12 years old (had him since he was a kitten) and I had to unexpectedly put him to sleep in July. Went to bed one night when everything was fine. By morning, I had no choice. I forgot how to breathe. I couldn't talk for two days and it still hurts like hell now that I'm an orphan.

My heartfelt condolences, Mike. I'm deeply sorry for your loss.
