I just read the above article and thought of all of you out there on the road.

SYNOPSIS: Apparently, a tire shop on Rte 15 in Utah is trolling the interstate looking for out-of-state RVs, driven particularly by seniors, flagging them down and telling them a tire was wobbling. They play on the unsuspecting victim's fears and get them to follow them to their shop. By the time they leave the shop they have been sold hundreds or thousands of dollars worth of unnecessary parts and labor.

Be aware and be safe!

Good on Albert (a retired cop) for catching their scam, and good on Utah for fining them. Bad on the tire shop for trying to appeal the fine.

One way to stop that s*t, but then I'd be ending my days as a guest of the state.

here's another tip. a favorite item for unscrupulous shops is shocks, buy the cheapest shocks and sell them for premium prices. most of the time shocks were never needed. the next two favorites are brakes and front end work. this is why I feel it's important to know your vehicle even if you don't do the work. highdesertranger
