I am retired and driving my son to Seattle leaving SF 8/24/17 he has some sort of convention to attend and some time with my son on the road appealed to me. It's about 850 miles so I figure 3 days on the road. I plan on spending some time looking around, any tips??? Flea markets ??? Hey Patrick.

My youngest son and I did Eureka, Ca to Seattle last year. It was so much fun. Try to see the shipwreck on the Oregon Coast the Peter Iredale.

If you have the time (4,5,6 days instead of 3) I would recommend taking HW 101 from SF to Seattle possibly even around the Olympic Peninsula in WA. Longer than the 850 mile I5 route but much more scenic.

Better yet start on HW 1.

Did that Expo 86 Vancouver in an old ford van with some of my tribe was not working and single, Canadian bars are a lot of fun. Beautiful ride up and back pre 9-11 days easy border crossing. Thanks for the reminder...
