Hello!!!

Anyone here have experience with a Lazy Daze E450?
I have a feeling it would be gas hog...

Linda K. ( aka --- MTBOBN ) … empty bobbin !!! Goring on the road in JAN 2020 and I can't take all my quilting stuff :(

There are whole groups of Lazy Daze owners who have big get-togethers all over the country. My cousin and her husband have a 2002(?) 26.5-footer they love. I think they have like 200,000 miles on the V-10. One of there best features is the wrap-around windows/focus on the view. They were one of the better-built class B & C RV's don't know if they are still in business. As to the Ford E450 chassis, most RVs are built on this platform, and yeah, your not buying a class B or C for the gas millage. Plan on ten mpg or less with a gas engine. The V-10 Triton is an industrial engine with a lot of power and torque, a good choice, but I'd rather have the old 7.3 or new 6.7 diesel myself. Better millage, and especially when towing. I tow a 2K Jeep WJ 4x4 Grand Cherokee; she's not light. If I could find a nice clean used Lazy Daze here in Houston I could afford, I'd buy it. Just my 2-cents worth for what it's worth. If you're looking for economy, there's a Toyota RV for sale here for $3850. I think it is excellent for one person or a very friendly couple. It's old but in good shape with only 110,000 miles on the v-6.

They are a deluxe, top-of-the-line, “primo” RV. If you can afford one of these gas mileage doesn’t matter. If I were going to buy a Class C, that would be it!

Just my opinion . . .

Rv's get real 5-7mpg. But youre able to resupply/dump about every 5-6 weeks vs 2x a week. So if youre intending to stay put for longer vs burning up the roads travelling constantly they're cheaper on fuel. Ive had both and a van can go through the gas with that itch to move.

Its better to start in a van because all new people generally want to see everything. If youre on a budget, doing this to escape the rat race, or dont have carpentry skills or tools a lazy dayz cant be beat.

My RV gets about 12 on average. That triton v10. That’s pulling a trailer also. It’s a 23 footer.

My new to me RV is almost double that size. I have a feeling I’m going to throw up when I figure what that’s getting.

Aha Cam,, so the Leviathan "is" really close to 40'.

Pulling a toad, especially through any hills, I prolly dont get 5mpg. 1990's 460 ford. I might get 6-7 on flat ground with empty tanks and not towing staying under 55mph. Pretty much what most report.

I found out that This RV got 9 going from FL to KH

I have a 1993 Dutchman 28' class A box with the 454 Chevy chassis and I get 10 mpg at 65 not towing anything. If I drive 55 I get 6-8 mpg. 65 is the engines sweet spot. I love the space and conveniences it has. Jeff

^^^ I got 10MPG average and 8 towing with a much older 28' Class A motorhome.

Ha, you always make my day.

That’s ok. I may have gone big but I’m still cheap camping and looking for ways to cut corners. I inherited it from my Moms side who was always saying the Scots were particularly frugal.

My 8000# diesel Ford Excursion, pulling my 9000# Heartland 32' TT gets 12 MPG at about 60-65 MPH....BUT....diesel costs more to fill up, repair, and initially buy.

I don't mind being nominated for a NAT trophy. Maybe the only award I'll ever get.
