Hi all. Long-time reader, first-time poster.

In 2011 we spent seven months in a Jayco pop-up. Saw most of the National Parks, lots of family and friends. Texas to California to Washington to Michigan, then back to Texas. Then we moved to Mexico.

The other day the wife started talking about going back and RV'ing again. She misses the trees.

Since then we've obsessed over the research and if this virus situation will ever get halfway solved we'll be flying in, grabbing a truck and trailer and getting the f*ck away from all the crazy people out there. That's the plan any way.

So hi  :-/

Welcome to the CRVL forums dixonge! Welcome back to camping! Keep us updated on your plans. :)

To help you learn the ins and outs of these forums, this "Tips, Tricks and Rules" post lists some helpful information to get you started.

Most of our rules boil down to two simple over-riding principles: 1) What you post should provide good information (like your introductory post), and 2) Any response to someone else's post should make them feel glad they are part of this forum community.

We look forward to hearing more from you.

I can't wait until the day I can go out on a 7 month adventure. I want to visit all of the lower 48!

Sorry to let you know but you won't get away from crazy people with your new plans. The rats have left the cities and moved to the uninhabited areas to get away from all the control issues. Oregon just shut down the National Forest unimproved camping areas because of all the campers who were just leaving their trash and human feces in the forest.
They said it will take a while to get all the trash cleaned up so that it is once again safe to stay out there.

It is good to have a dream but this is not a normal time or situation.

Welcome to the CRVL Forum   :)

In time things may get better.  Until then we may only have hopes and dreams.  But never underestimate the importance of dreams.

In the meanwhile, check the bottom site below if you have a computer & internet.  There is a huge section of links but at the top left is a section on trip
planning.  You can take "Virtual Trips" from home and see places you may be interested in visiting before driving there.  That may be what you want to do right now to stay safe.
