My brake pedal has been sticky and when released my brake lights stay on for a while I stepped out  and noticed the running lights were also on, weird as I am never able to get the running lights to light with the headlamp switch, the blue ox cable was repaired by the last owner perhaps he messed up the wiring? its a factory tow kit with the normal round 7 pin connector in the bed and on the back hitch.

Immediately check the master cylinder.

In addition to the master cylinder I'd check the brake pedal pivot and actuator arm pivot and give them a shot of lube. If the pedal moves freely it's most likely the master cylinder and/or the power brake booster. Neither is a tough repair. The running lights sound to me like a possible grounding issue.

Hope it turns out to be an easy fix, Vern
