I am trying to figure out how old this is.  I am trying to figure out if it is worth anything.

I do not have a clue how to start it.  If it starts.

I want to have it gone.  But..if I get someone to take it, I am worried they will cause damage ... It runs off the fuel tank.

I cannot drive the vehicle to a mechanic.   Could I put it on Craigslist and get someone to come out?   How do we deinstall?

What would you do?

well what I would do is get it out of there, make sure it runs and then sell it. being able to show it runs and works is a huge plus. there should be a switch inside to start it, have you tried? there is also a start switch on the panel in the pic, have you tried that? I would be leery about letting just anybody remove it. try to start it then we will go from there. of course you could sell it as is "not running" but you are going to take a big hit on the price. highdesertranger

Well , it's probably the same age as the rig it's in.
I had one in my 76 Sportscoach which I'm guessing was a good bit older...
I put an ad in a local penny saver type magazine and got a call the next day
He showed up the next saturday , I started it , he gave me $800 without blinking an eye! I could have asked for twice that and more ..
I helped him remove it and then he lifted it into his mini van !!

Just disconnect the exhaust ,take off the wires if it has a remote start and tape the ends ,and the wires to the breaker box/transfer switch , remove and plug the fuel line then just 3 or 4 bolts into the floor and it's out .

305# gone and 45# for the Honda 2000 to replace it , AND a good part of the Honda paid for too !

I spent about $600 to have an Onan 4000 gas model repaired by 3 different shops..never could resolve the problem..had a guy who's knuckles come close to dragging the ground remove it from the MH once and for all..by now the defunct generator should be doing duty on a trawler somewhere on the Pacific Ocean..as an anchor.

I plan on purchasing a Honda EU3000is..putting it in a receiver hitch basket..building a cage around it so it doesn't develop legs..call it good to go.

Good luck on your decision.
