Hello friends -

I am curious who is using a generator and the size, model, etc. I'm about done calculating the taxes and will be getting $1019 back plus or mnus a couple of bucks... Look like a great time to buy a super quiet generator.

I'm leaning toward the Yamaha 1600 watt (2000 peak) model. It should be fine for the needs. They are reliable, fuel-efficient, highly rated, quiet, and light weight. They are also close to $1000.00 so I'm still open to spending less for a good model if there's a better value.

What is everyone using? I've heard that the Honda 2000 watt generator is a fine machine. There are others under the names of Honeywell, Ryobi (spelling?), Briggs and Stratton, etc. and such for less money that are pretty decent. What would you recommend?

Brad

http://vantrekker.blogspot.com/

Never owned a Yamaha generator, but do own a Yamaha ATV and a outboard motor. Love both of them--great products. As for generators, I have a Honda eu2000i (around $1000) and really like it. It's super quiet and runs my roof air conditioner, microwave, etc. in my truck camper without any problems. It has an "eco" switch on it that allows you run generator at fewer rpms with lighter loads to save fuel (doesn't run at high rpms no matter what the load is, like a lot of cheaper generators). I made a fuel line, with filter, to connect to an external tank so I can run it all night long (when using the air conditioner) without worrying about running out of gas and having to get up and refill the little tank in the generator.

Look on Cl. I found a few good deals on Honda generators. I can't use them cause of stealth reasons but from here and other forums I hear they are quiet and last a long time.

Without sought I would recommend the Honda 2000i. It is quiet and sips gas in economic mode. I just got mine about two weeks ago.

I found a great deal yesterday on the Honda. I'm going camping tonight to test it out. So far, it is awesome. I'm so glad that I got this one. Thanks for the recommendation.

Brad

http://vantrekker.blogspot.com
