Only true if your bank is 24V, nothing to do with the panel voltaged. The cost of extra SC capacity is nothing compared to the extra costs of 24V. Few wiring savings in a small rig.

Stick to 12V for House unless you really know what you're doing.

But for MPPT efficiency 40+Voc panels are best for many quality SCs. Can alwatts series wire lower ones, but then more of a hit from partial shading.
