Interesting video on a simpler way to cool PV panels--(to increase panel efficiency/lifespan) plus the potential to use the removed heat:



For those van builders with fixed panels (+air gap) above their roof, this might be an interesting option. A clever tie-in with a max air roof fan could supply the cooling--with the heated exhaust air either rejected (outside) or vented (inside) for partial van heating. Even if the heat isn't utilized, the gain in panel efficiency...and a cooler roof might be worth the trouble.

There have also been experiments heating water with panel heat. Hasn't been worth the complication yet AFAIK.

By accident my Maxxfan exhaust snorkel blows underneath my array. There is such a huge air gap under the panels in my setup it probably makes no practical difference.
