Prevent mold from forming under mattress?

Mold forms when moisture meets lack of light and air. So flipping your mattress often (weekly?) will do a lot to prevent mold.

A bed frame/foundation that uses slats, webbing, meshes or holes will provide air.

A "bedwetter bag" can keep moisture away from your mattress.

Getting out of wet/humid climates will take care of most mold issues.

You could place something in between the mattress and the base that provides air to pass through such as a "Froli Sleep System" which also acts likes springs to improve comfort. You can also buy a bunch of small diameter pvc pipes, drill holes along the sides and tie some of them together. Wouldn't be as comfortable but should be a cheaper method. If you had enough space in your rig you could hook up a hammock.

Any one  try something that works well to keep mold from forming under the mattress?

Are you using any kind of heater ?

I've used the Froil system and it works well and has adjustable firmness, but I found after about four years everyday use it started to lose its firmness. Still kept the space between the mattress and plywood but wasn't as firm. Here's another related thread: https://vanlivingforum.com/showthread.php?tid=43662
I think the mesh listed in the other thread works better and is about half the cost of the Froil setup.
