I just started charging with my Honda 2000 genset and a 75 amp Powermax
battery charger when I noticed the generator running abnormally loud and as I'm looking at the ampmeter I noticed the amps dropped to zero and the generator quieted down , I thought man I just blew the output out of my charger , later I tore it apart and noticed a component ( I think it's a capacitor of some sort)
with one of its legs opened circuit like it burnt open , see picture
Anyhow I soldered wires on its legs and it restored the output.
I thought it was strange that it didn't blow either of the 40 amp fuses and also a glass
fuse located inside was not blown either.
If it ever revs up like that again I think I'll turn the voltage down a little for awhile.
Note that I've been using this charger for a couple of months with no problems and the only
thing that changed recently was a new set of Sam's Club gc2 batteries
