While making a suggestion on another thread, I realized that I hadn't seen this mentioned. At least recently.

In the past I have used portable external monitors to add a monitor to my laptop on the go. It even connects to my phone as a way to enlarge the screen size to enable using it as a mini desktop.

With the power and size restrictions most here have, it might make a lot of sense to use one of these. They come in various sizes with mostly the same features. 13"-15" with type c supplying power and video, or type c for power and HDMI for video. There are probably more combinations that I never bothered with. Most have speakers.

Disclaimer: This is just an example. I haven't used this model

Given that space and power are usually in short supply overall, this type of monitor might just be the ticket for a few.

Generally through the USB-C connector on the phone. Don't know about the fruit phones.

A lot of phones of the fruit (Apple) and non fruity (Android) type can output to HDMI directly or via an adapter.
This is an example of an adapter for iPhones and iPads

A lot of the newer phone with type c data/power connecters have the capability built in, although I can't say for certain which will and won't.
