Do you ever feel like we're entertainment for all the anonymous guests signed on here?

Ive always believed on all the forums I'm on --- if you don't post up once in a while --- Bye -- Bye

Go Lurk someplace else

Plus theres probaly a good amount of small goubermint agencys trying to "Learn" the latest trends

I usually bounce around a few forums -- over at another one there's --- 1844 guests

I wonder if a lot of the guests are members that have posted in the past and really don't have anything new to post so they just lurk. Is it me or have you noticed lots of members come and then go (has it always been this way?). Seems like some members come on here and there is a frenzy of new posts by them for days or weeks and then bam they disappear into oblivion without so much as a goodbye . Of course I haven't been here that long myself.

There are anonymous guests here?! lol

I just checked and there is 18 members, 71 guests and 1 invisible. So how exactly do you become invisible?

Lots of people use 'net forums as a tool; not looking at it like a community but rather an encyclopedia to find the answer to a question. Luckily there are people like you good folks who are interested (and interesting) enough to keep talking and provide those answers for the seekers. I know that I've googled up forums to find answers about a specific ABS brake system on a car, a Coleman lantern, issues with my motorcycle and things like that. I'm desperately in need of the answer to one question but not interested enough to keep talking about my insert item for any length of time.

Another number of anonymous guests are webcrawlers - engines specifically written to search webpages for links in searches.

Maybe a lot of them learned whatever they came to learn, acted on it and can now be found living on a road somewhere, doing what the rest of us figure on doing, but without going online.

Or maybe they just dream about it, armchair nomads, and eventually arrive at the realization all of us are talking about being on the road at a level that shakes the dew off the lilly and loses the glamor. Lurking around to read about how to feed mama nature into a five gallon bucket with a toilet seat on it, cooking in a thermos, worrying about LP leaks and keeping the nosy homeowners from calling the cops probably doesn't have a lasting appeal to the average adventure seeker.

Well, when you put it that way... What the hell am I thinking?!?!

Jack, If I were a wagering man I would put my money on your second guesstimation.

I swear even though none of you think you're geeks, ya'll would be wearing rubber spock ears already had I been talking about Star Trek.

Control panel -- Preferences -- Enable invisible mode -- yes

Then put on the cloak of invisibility

I think he'd be more pissed about missing a good Star Trek discussion. Hell, I would be if I missed it.

If I was Brad ---- would I be

I tested it out and sent a picture of me using it to Brad and he said it works real well. He couldn't see me but he could still see my clothes so I fixed that and sent another picture. Maybe he still has a few more to sell.
Dragonfly
