Places along the panhandle heading south?

Hello,

I'm currently in Destin,Fl 

Nice small town ..

Spent the day on the beach 

I'm curious going down the scenic way every couple hours towards southern Florida on the gulf side 

Looking to head south to follow the heat 

How do you find a place to sleep without throwing away money at airbnbs ?

Walmart,Hotel lots

I use an app called Free Roam, also www.campendium.com is good.
BTW, Planning a Meet up/Camp together in the hopes of establishing caravans for Florida and the southeast over the winter.
