Here is my new futon! I saw this one near a dump --tossed because the folding part and the foam itself is junk. But the frame and metal brackets were in good shape so I took it apart, cleaned it up and kept it in the van until after TG. Today, I installed it in. Quite a lot of moving around crates, but it went well.<div><img src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-bBDxzUD0t8o/TtASbkRS-oI/AAAAAAAAADE/es3cmtXPWHk/s320/100_0644.jpg"></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: rgb(51, 51, 51); font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, FreeSans, sans-serif; font-size: 15px; line-height: 20px; background-color: rgb(192, 161, 84); ">MY New Futon arrangement: I took out that folding part and kept the basic wood and steel framing. Put some crates in the center (storage and stability). Here is the bed propped up to show the crate storage beneath.</span><img src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ueKiqq2ezn0/TtAURYK0qUI/AAAAAAAAADs/7KrGlM6eo_s/s1600/100_0648.jpg"></div><div><br></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: rgb(51, 51, 51); font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, FreeSans, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 20px; background-color: rgb(192, 161, 84); ">Here is a view of my current setup with my closet area on the left. I moved some of the heaviest crates with my books there on the left side of the vehicle so weight distribution is more balanced.</span></div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: rgb(51, 51, 51); font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, FreeSans, sans-serif; font-size: 15px; line-height: 20px; background-color: rgb(192, 161, 84); ">Here is the back of my van more organized this time around... With a little bit of ingenuity, you could have made it into a permanent couch or another small bed, really... or at the very least save those screws.&nbsp;</div><div>When I unscrewed them, I can almost tell they've only been screwed on once --when they were first purchased and assembled together. The parts were still shiny and in great shape.</div><div><br></div><div>I really want to own a junk yard one day... think of all the stuff I can hoard from all around the neighborhood... <img src="/images/boards/smilies/smile.gif" border="0" align="absmiddle"></div>

It's almost like my old reliable futon found a life mate. <img src="/images/boards/smilies/smile.gif" border="0" align="absmiddle"> After a lifetime of living alone, (I purchased the foam from a futon place by itself --no frame) my dear little futon foam, after 5 years on the carpeted ground of many apartments, found a matching partner! <img src="/images/boards/smilies/smile.gif" border="0" align="absmiddle"> Now if only its owner could find his own match... heh!

It was bone chillingly cold the other night!<div>Last night wasn't so bad.&nbsp;</div><div>I learned to create a bubble of warmth finally by putting 2 layers of blankets on top of me... and the outer layer over my head as well.</div><div>This created a small pocket of warm air around my head without that suffocating feeling when I put both blankets over my head... ahh... the things you learn on the go...</div><div>I am currently looking for portable heaters so tomorrow I may go over to home depot and pick one up for the really chilly nights... <img src="/images/boards/smilies/smile.gif" border="0" align="absmiddle"></div><div><br></div>
