We finally replaced the beloved GyrFalcon. OK, we didn't go 'cheap' this time, but this is something for which we've saved since we honeymooned in a tent for two weeks in 1977. It must last us 20 years or so, and it will take us anywhere we wish to go, and allow us to stay on site as long as we reasonably wish on a retirement pension.

The name? The moment I saw it, I remembered Iorek Byrnison's line in "The Golden Compass":

"I am an armored bear!"

Cool Seraphim. Now you have no excuse not to be at a southeast GTG

Being a TC fan, I really like that. Is that a slide I see on the passenger side? More pics please.

Thanks everyone. The truck camper has different pros and cons from the van, but we're happy with it.

@y-wave. I read the books after hearing the controversy over the movie. Most of the controversial material comes in the the subsequent books, IMO.

@Les. The GTG may have to wait until after I retire in January. I'm hoarding sick and vacation time to sell back for a small nest egg ad pay off remaining debts.

@Starman. Yes, we did go with a small slide for the table. We hadn't wanted to at first, but it gives us a sense of separation when necessary, which we didn't have in the van. One can be in the sleeping area and the other at the table out of sight. Occasionally good for a relationship. Lol

Six months and counting.

Right side

More than we're used to and will probably use, but more comfortable for long term than what we had. There didn't seem to be a middle ground we were happy with.

Thanks for the extra pics Seraphim, it looks so huge inside. Bet you love that new RV smell. The one thing I like best about a TC is the ability to pull a trailer behind it. Hope you enjoy it.

Thanks. It almost feels like too much room just now lol. It looks larger because of the wide angle lens on the phone.

On occasion we'll pull an old VW behind it, if we plan to stay put in one place for a period of time.

Seraphim, it's beautiful! I know you and your wife will love having it and it will be a lot more comfortable for you. For now ya'll can just go weekends till you can really leave. I have been rushing around here like a crazy person cause we got our house rented out and have to be out by the first, it's been extremely rough having to go thru your whole life so quickly,so it's a good thing for you that you are going to have more time to get ready to go. Good luck on your new life to be, maybe my husband and I will get to meet you and your wife on the road somewhere!
