That is an Astro Tiger GT, made by Provan. Provan converted Astros from the late 80s until the end of Astro production in 2005. The GT was the pop-top version, there was also a Tiger XL with a full height fiberglass roof with cabover bed. The AWD versions of these campers are highly coveted and some are converted to true 4x4 with a transfer case swap.

Provan is still in business as Tiger Adventure Vehicles, converting full-size Chevy trucks into luxury adventure vehicles, many of them 4x4. The layout and design of the coach hasn't changed much since the early Astro conversions.

Here's a pic of a lifted Tiger GT with the top up, an a pic of a Tiger XL hardtop.

Here is the latest version, the Tiger Bengal. I said Chevy trucks, I see on their website they build them on Chevy Ford and Dodge chassis. These new ones are up in the $150,000 plus price range, and for a while they built a bigger model that competed with Earthroamer in the $200,000 plus range.

Here's a Bengal on a Dodge chassis

they are quality builds unlike the majority of RV's now. no OSB, no particle board, all the components are top of the line. if you want something that's going to last more than a few years you have to pay. my buddy has one he was at RTR 3 or 4 years ago. a lot of people got to see the inside. he paid just under 100k for his back in 2014. also you have to figure that today the 4WD one ton truck they are building them on cost about 80k. highdesertranger

Woo nice picture Tx2sturgis, but boy howdy that Blazer looks top heavy, especially for an off-road camper. Makes me nervous just to look at it.

Bonvanroulez, that new Bengal looks plenty sturdy. I would go there if I had 149,000 dollars more to spend.

Thanks for the pics, y'all

Thanks for the info. I just drove by and got a quick look. Wasn't sure if it was a DIY or not.
