"... Krampus, a horned devil-goat from Europe known for punishing naughty kids in the run-up to Christmas, is infiltrating the US...
The menacing creature has his origins in pre-Christian pagan traditions, evolving over the centuries to symbolize the Christian devil. His name comes from krampen, the German word for “claws,” and he’s long demonized those in Austria, southern Germany, Hungary, Slovenia and the Czech Republic..."

It's definitely a anything goes world in which we live. I feel bad for the kiddo's

This is what happens when you hi-jack a pagan holiday. This has been going on for generations in Europe. It's just new to the US. What you have to decide is what holiday you and your family will celebrate. A Christian celebration of hope and joy, a pagan celebration of well being and survival or a made up commercialized celebration of stuff.

Christmas
Krampus (the real one not the corrupted movie version)
Winter Solstice / Yule

What I consider strange is the people that watch this.

Nothing new here.Religion has been using fear and ignorance to control people for thousands of years.

Well, yeah, as a generality.  What surprised me is that all four of my grandparents were from that part of the world - Austrians and Bavarians - and I had never heard of the Krampus before.
