RAM provides free Medical, Dental and Vision in Pahrump, Oct 3-4
I heard about Remote Area Medical (RAM) from Guy here on the forum. RAM is a mobile organization providing free medical dental and vision services for people who are un- or under-insured. When I needed a tooth extracted after loosing my insurance, I diverted my travels and went to a weekend RAM clinic in Reno. I was very impressed with the quality of professional service I received, as well as the care, concern and advocacy of the volunteers. So, I decided to become a volunteer myself. This October will be my 4th year volunteering with RAM for their weekend clinics in Pahrump.
If you can be in Pahrump on October 3rd or 4th, a location where many nomads camp on BLM land east of town, consider making an appointment to see a medical, dental or vision professional. No ID or insurance required.
In past years, people lined up outside for service. With COVID-19, service is still first come, first served, but now scheduled by phone. When you call, be prepared to RAM staff what service you need - medical, vision (exam, glasses), or dental (cleaning, filling, extraction).
Call soon before all appointment slots are taken -- 865-500-8592 -- voice mail messages are time and date stamped to assure first come, first served.
Please visit RAM's COVID-19 FAQ page for more information -- https://www.ramusa.org/faqs-clinics-during-covid-19/
I hope to see you there. I will be volunteering at Patient Intake/Registration. Be sure to say hi!
