I have acquired a E350 large passenger van for a good price. It has a 7.3l diesel and automatic transmission. Could I take the passenger compartment off and build a narrow box or should I just convert the compartment in it now.

What level are your fabrication skills? Is it something you'd be comfortable and confident doing? If so, go for it.

so do you mean a shuttle bus? a passenger van has a regular van body on it. highdesertranger

A passenger van will have windows down both side, and in the back doors, I would keep these, and put removable insulated covers on the inside (along with tinting them). This will allow you to see out while camping if you desire, but it will have a stock/stealthy look from the outside just having blacked out windows.

Building a narrow box will take alot of time, effort, and money, and probably won't look nearly as good as the stock body, while also opening up the possability of leaks.

Ty guys I will keep the factory box on it and go from there. Will also look at window covers. It does have Windows all around. For the price I couldn't pass it up. $500 with clear title. It has the 7.3 IDI diesel with automatic.

Ty guys. I want to do a full bathroom and queen size bed should still leave tons of room.
