Hi All.

I'm a noob and just installed a 100w Renogy and dual battery kits Running the basics:   iphone, laptop, Maxxair and mini fridge.

Everything is great but the Potek 750 watt inverter is noisy is heck.  It's a cheap POS so I'm wondering if an upgrade would make a difference?

It's compact so it only has room for a little, high RPM fan (loud) to get the volume of air it needs. A physically larger inverter of the same power rating and efficiency could use a big slow RPM fan (quieter) to move the same volume of air. Or a really big one with a big heat sink and lots of surface area could manage with convection cooling only (no fan).

Just think of the fan noise as a bonus feature that reminds you to shut it off when you don't need it [emoji3].

I have a 300 watt GoPower PS inverter that has been running 24x7 for almost 2 years
the ONLY time the fan has turned on is when the temperature inside the van is
over 90F -
when the fan has come on it is quiet and only speeds up to match heat removal needed -

I usually pull less than 120 watts charging stuff and running computers TV etc -

GoPower - Samlex - Cotek are all made
by the same company and are quality gear -

Buying good gear is worth the money because you depend on it working -

being out in the sticks with no power is not a Happy time
