. . . It's a helluva town.

For those considering van living in, or even just visiting New York City:

Saw a brief news report today that they will be opening a bunch more charging stations for Tesla cars in NYC. There will shortly be 105 charging stations for the approximately 1500 Teslas registered there.

Meanwhile, according to the article, there are now only 40 gas stations in all of NYC.  This results in lines up to 40 minutes long during rush hour.  The problem, of course, is the insane real estate values there.  The land occupied by a gas station is worth so much more as a site for a big building.

"there are now only 40 gas stations in all of NYC".  That is just not accurate there are many more than that.
Say Goodbye to Manhattan's Gas Stations
There may only be 40 in Manhattan but that is not all of New York City.

They have gas stations in Manhattan?

40 minute wait is nothing, there are longer waits just to cross over some of the bridges and tunnels during rush hour.

Makes me think that a "Mobile gas station" Which would come to your home, fill your tank (and for an added fee) get the tires checked and wash the windows. Most vehicles need only 14 gallons maybe. Car owner wakes, runs out and knows their tank is full, they are ready to go.....

I have friends and family that live in Manhattan. They all say how convenient living there is. I guess their definition of convenient is different than mine. I think it's a fun place to visit for some good food, great museums, etc, but after a few days I gotta escape!
