After staying at home for quite some time, I've decided to try the car life to improve my sedentary lifestyle. I'm not planning to do a full time yet because of other life plans so I'll be renting either a truck camper or a compact RV for the meantime. I joined here to have an idea about building my itinerary and preparation of equipment that I'll need. Glad to be part of this community.

Welcome roadniuu to the CRVL forums! For help with an itinerary you will need to be more specific on what it is that you want to do.

To help you learn the ins and outs of these forums, this "Tips, Tricks and Rules" post lists some helpful information to get you started.

Most of our rules boil down to two simple over-riding principles: 1) What you post should provide good information (like your introductory post), and 2) Any response to someone else's post should make them feel glad they are part of this forum community.

We look forward to hearing more from you.

Welcome to the forum and the beginning of your new lifestyle Roadniuu. Almost everybody I know including me has gone overboard with making list of stuff you need. The best way to learn what you need us to practice it in someway while making a list. Then the best advice is cut that list in half. But it takes experience to know which half to cut. And if you can figure out the Covid and the new administration‘s reaction to it ahead of time you’re smarter than I am. good luck. God bless the nomads oldies and newbies.

As a new person entering into this in a limited capacity I think you are doing the right thing to get your feet wet.   I would invite you to check out the two links at the bottom of this post where you can find a lot of answers and information you seek all in one place.

The first has a link at the top of it to  "a Bug-Out Car".  A car converted to take off and travel/camp in and live out of.  Without too much conversion.   And still be usable as a car for yourself.

The bottom is a portal of information & links to make planning your travels & living on the road more safe, comfortable, and convenient.  Some of the trip planning software in the portal will allow you to take a virtual trip from your computer and see your route/itinerary just as though you were driving in your car.

All the best !

Thank you so much for the warm welcome and insights! I really appreciate it.

Basics include sleep warm and dry, figure out how to eat, figure out how to toilet. The rest works itself out.
