Welcome Karl to the CRVL forums! To help you learn the ins and outs of these forums, this "Tips, Tricks and Rules" post lists some helpful information to get you started.

Most of our rules boil down to two simple over-riding principles: 1) What you post should provide good information (like your introductory post), and 2) Any response to someone else's post should make them feel glad they are part of this forum community.

We look forward to hearing more from you.

Look on FB marketplace for vans in your area, and you can start out simple, and slow (no need for an involved van build), just get a mattress, some milk crates for storage under the bed, and keep it simple.

Welcome! That's a tall order for a first post lol

Step 1, get the van. Look on FaceBook Marketplace or CriagsList.
Unless you have a brand & model in mind, look for something that suits your needs.
When I was looking, I was looking for a van with a high top with under 100k miles.
High top vans are typically conversion vans and I found a great deal on a 97 Chevy Astro with 62k miles and very local.
I would have liked a full size for internal space, but the Astro isn't quite a mini, but smaller and easy to maneuver around.

Welcome Karl-Florida, i’m done, part time Florida but roots in PA. You came to the right place it’s all here, and go to Bob’s cheap RV living YouTube page you’ll find everything you need. And recently Bob put everything together in sort of a course that he has on video online there is a charge for this and two different places to get it but if you’re looking for everything condensed together that Bob has to tell you about van living or vehicle living that’s the place to get it. You can get it free here but apparently he put it in order and outlined it better in the course. But if you’re tight on money don’t buy the course get everything here and save that money you’re gonna need it. I assume you know that this form belongs to Bob Wells and that he has a website, a YouTube page, and a blog. Spending time in any of these is going to give you the education you need.

Thanks Guys,

Definitely I will follow Bobs web page forum and Youtube Channels to get all information i need.

God Bless

Make sure you do plenty of research before you choose a van! Don't just pay attention to the year or brand. Some vehicles that are the tops in older years, are terrible in the newer years, and vice versa. I had to find something as much under 4k as I could find without getting a piece of junk, so I looked for an old cargo van with a straight six engine (they are no longer used, but will last way longer than most of the engines getting put in newer vehicles).
