One of the Freedompop services is a GSM global sim that works on AT&T or T-mobile here and many countries overseas. I was using one to watch a movie on netflix via a OTA adapter to our 39 inch TV when the phones battery ran out. While it charged I tried to finish watching the movie on the computer but try as I may, I couldn't find it.

When the phone charged up I went back to it while connected to the wireless instead of its data. The movie would not play saying that it wasn't available in the US. It started back up as soon as I switch back to the sims data. The sim is based out of the UK so netflix thinks that is where the phone is and shows different movies than they do here.

This can be accomplished w/ vpn or anything giving get you an IP from another country. However, be warned, Netflix is cracking down on this as it's considered piracy and their license holders are not happy. I have not heard of anyone getting banned, yet.
