The reason i do not have a CCW is that the the data base is linked in a lot of states to peoples license plates.  It would change the over night street parking and not for the better.  In VA i have seen a few cop cars that have the cameras that just drive around checking license plates.

I wounder if there will be a state CCW and then a federal CCW.  I know there is all ready a push to link license plates, car insurance, warrants, and CCW's all into one data base that all cops will be able to check.  I'm sure if we get a National right to CCW this will be pushed even harder and make it a reality.
It would be more along the lines of Constitutional Carry like Idaho, where I live. As long as ur 21 or over, you can ccw without a permit. Leos are clueless as to who is carries and who doesn't. Violent crime has already come down in Boise, since the law passed a year ago.

An active shootet scenario isn't as frightening, when 80% of the people may return fire. Liberal manic crazy states like California wouldn't allow it though. So it would be redundant. Moving to a more freedom loving state would be the answer.

Down the road a few minutes drive from me lives a guy who runs an ammo biz out of his garage.   We're in southern Ohio.   It's like a year around flea market for ammo at his place.

Over in West Virginia and eastern Kentucky the flea markets abound with firearms.  Guys drive around the 24/7 Gasoline Super Stations showing firearms out of the trunks of their cars or from inside their Vans.  Some of them work out of the trunks of their Taxi's.  They come around during the slow hours of the evening showing the stuff
they have.  Rarely are they back with the same stuff.

It used to be when the mines laid off or after a strike was settled you could go out and buy pistols dirt cheap.  That's when these guys would drive two or three hours out there and buy up 50 to 100 of them and bring them
back to the larger cities to sell.  No records no taxes.  Po' Boys livin like Billionaires.

I believe the last time a national carry was presented it was tied to a gun owner database. Kind of like Hitler had. I didn't work out well if you were jewish. Very seldom are bills passed on their own merit. Usually something is in there for those that would normally oppose the bill.
So you could carry in every State until the Feds picked up all the guns.

It is about reciprocity. Individual states still determine their own CCW laws.

Just like an out of state DL is valid in all other states.

States would be required to recognize CCW permits issued by other states.

This is an interstate travel issue for CCW holders. The bill will allow freedom of movement and respects the rights of individuals. Therefore it is legitimately under the purview of the Federal government.

There won't be any exploding heads from cognitive dissonance over this issue.

PS The NSA already has a national database. That ship (more like a submarine) sailed a while back.

PPS Stalin had lists as well. Hitler and Stalin were both socialists.

I think both sides have valid points, I also think that nothing discussed about this topic on this forum will have any effect on the outcome of the topic if it is proposed, and nothing good will come out of the the discussion for people on this forum.  Everyone is 'stuck'in their ways for lack of better term.

The fact you just categorized EVERY person who conceal carries as mentally ill is pretty sad, in my opinion.

I also think this has become way too political.

I have people on both sides of the argument.

I refuse to enter this one as it is progressing.

I'm locking this one down at least temporarily until the moderators have had a chance to discuss whether there's any point in allowing further discussion.
