Here is a most entertaining individual who has done many reviews and build instructions for stoves and outside gear. He was a circus clown and works as a juggler at State fairs etc. Most of his camping videos uses the name of SHUGEMERY but he does a lot of his juggling videos unter the name SEAN EMERY. http://www.seanemery.com/

BTW thanks for reminding me about him. going there now.

Highly recommended channel If you need a chuckle or two.

Denatured alcohol is the way to go. You can also use Heat, you can find it in automotive parts departments and stores.

This is a super simple stove. It's just a wick of fiberglass insulation. The way to get a much hotter flame is to make a stove that pressurizes the alcohol and lets it burn as vapor. These stoves are often thought of as water boilers but they can be used for all sorts of cooking.

I have a White Box alcohol stove. It's made by a guy in Montana out of Red Bull cans and he ships them in a white box. My White Box is definitely packed in my kitchen cabinet.

I prefer "simple" whenever possible.  ;)

The cotton balls do eventually burn up and need to be replaced every few months. But I try to stay away from fiberglass, because it gives me the itchies.
