Mine are many, but the biggest mistake I ever made was pulling into a siding for trucks - no facilities. I was in remote Northern Territory in Central Australia, it was late, I was tired, and thought I would sleep there. Not too long later a knock on the van. Turned out to be an aboriginal couple whose first request was for diesel. I said I did not have any. (I do, but was not going to let on.) Then asked if I had some food, I said I did not carry any. Then asked for money and left after I gave them two dollars. Rather than go back to sleep, I left the area and continued till I found a rest area where there were some two dozen vans, RVs and tents, and joined them.
