:s Wondering on behalf of a friend and myself how to re-configure my minivan to allow two senior women to sleep and travel comfortably.
any suggestions?

Welcome to the CRVL forums gladdheart! Two people in a minivan will be cramped but if anyone knows how to do it they're on this forum! Hope you get some good suggestions.

To help you learn the ins and outs of these forums, this "Tips & Tricks" post lists some helpful information to get you started. We look forward to hearing more from you.

Um, are you both tiny? Or can one of you sleep sitting up?

Check out this setup. She is short and sleeps width wise while the other sleeps back to front.
Lots of people on YouTube have kitchen setups in the back open hatch like a teardrop and double mattress in the middle for a couple. Foldout couch to bed and or underneath bed storage and it's hit the road time for great New adventures!

Cozy but can be done.

Wow, how amazing is this lady plus her Well-organized minivan setup. Thanks for sharing !

Platonic friends can sleep together in one bed no problem.

If the friendship develops benefits, again, no problem.

what about something like a trundle bed, one mattress slides out from the bottom of the other, during day they are stacked. this could work in either direction...?

One way to figure this all out is for the two of you to lie down in a minivan and see how much room you actually have.

Welcome to the CRVL forums Ladies...

Good luck on the van conversion and safe travels...

What about adding a tent to your inventory? ... not ideal, probably misses the mark on the comfort requirement, but could work on an interim basis ... ?

My daughter and I used [granted, a HUGE] one at Scaddan Wash in Quartzsite for a few days a couple of weeks ago.  It had a center canvas to divide the tent in half, giving us each some privacy, it had metal poles that stood up to some 20 mile an hour winds, kept us dry when it rained, housed all of our belongings ... I think we paid $149 for it a few years back.

Here's a 1 minute video slide show of us putting it up:

It's got music in the backgound if you want to turn your speakers down ... :)

Best of luck to you you both.  Hope this helps ... :)

I second the tent idea.
Something like the one in this link for $250/US:

Cheap, pretty sturdy and because it is attached to the van, it would be much better than average in the windy scenarios.
Setup is pretty easy, too.
