If you are on the road for months at a time and are on prescription medicines how do you get them? Thanks people.

Walmart.

Order on website and change address to store where you are now located.

Yes, Walmart is the solution. But one tip to make it easier; take in your last bottle of medications. Sometimes the computers can't find you but if you have the bottle and the number it's super fast and easy.

Here in the west I will go down to Mexico and buy a years supply at a time. It's often cheaper than if you have insurance and a co-pay. Best of all, no prescription required.

Margie's Drs set her up with 3 months at a time. A phone call gets them re-upped. She uses WalMart, which we find easy.

The VA sets me up for 6 months and I can call for more when needed. Oxygen I have to go in to re-qualify once a year and I get it delivered when I'm in most towns across the nation.

Talk to your Dr about extending (the amount you carry) your med scripts so you don't have to hassle with it as often.

We use Sam's Club and walk-in clinics. BTW, David is on heart meds (statins, etc). You do not have to be a member of Sam's Club to use their pharmacy.

Walmart is certainly one answer, but it's not the only answer.

Both the Wallgreens and CVS pharmacy chains will fill refill requests at any of their locations while you are traveling.

One caveat: I'm told that Canadian locations can't do this. Canadian law does not permit Canadian pharmacies to fill or refill US prescriptions.

Your Dr. will probably only authorize a limited number of refills before expecting you to come in for a check up. You may have to plan to return to your Dr.'s location once a year or so in order to continue getting your meds.

Some of my medications are controlled and the Rx needs to be mailed to me or hand picked up and then the hard copy taken to a pharmacy. My doc agreed to keep prescribing if he only sees me once a year in person but he told me he still wants me to get my regular imaging set every 4 months. Hopefully finding a hospital to get it done won't be too hard. Anyway, no recommendations really, just I'm there too. Good luck. I'll be following this to see the recommendations.

Wamart here.......as long as I see a referred doctor and follow up on blood work and test while I travel no problems
