Has anyone here ever OWNED (not just seen a picture of) a folding rocking chair ? I'd like to get one but since they all seem to be via mail-order I'm trying to get some "real life-real time" feedback.
Thanks............KinA

I have one that qualifies as 'vintage', made of tubular aluminum and redwood. Even found a photo: http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/ODAwWDYwMA==/z/aHMAAOSwuxFYtNam/$_1.JPG

It's okay, but I put a cushion on the bottom if I'm going to be in it for any length of time. It's lightweight and easy to tote (or drag) around. It was probably the first of its kind, and current ones may be more comfortable. I would try them out before buying, if possible.

We used to have that same exact kind! Aluminum with redwood slats for the seat and back. Was super comfortable and one day I go down to the family Summer home to find my Dad tossed it with a bunch of other old chairs we had. I like all the old style chairs better than the new foldable camp chairs.

I think Bass Pro Shops and Cabelas has some camp rockers on display you can try out if my memory serves me correctly.

Last fall @ Gander Mountain, Dothan AL I sat in a folding Rocker that was a perfect fit.  On sale for $59, that I didn't have.

IDK if only in AL or other states that Camping  World has bought Gander Mountain stores.  I was told at Camping World that some GMs would reopen after some renovations and restocking.

AT Camp. World I have recently sat in at least 8 folding rockers.  I felt like Goldilocks trying to find a just right fit for me.

Some were too low, or seat was to small, in some the seats were to short front to back, never one big enough for Q and I to sit in.  I need to have a seat that the edge will not press sharply in to the backs of my legs thus slowing down my circulation in my legs and feet.  Some of them I'd need a lumper to do the lifting/loading/unloading.  Others were like a wrasslin' match to open/close.  I'm 5ft 5in tall and weigh somewhere between 185 and 205.  I keeep losing weight and it keeps finding me,  and bringing friends along too.

WalMart has a folding quad style rocker.  I intend to try it out this weekend and I'll post my findings here.  It is the heaviest one so far,  if it's a good fit I'll get it and only use it when staying at least a few days, that way I'll save some wear and tear....on me :)

Tractor Supply has a folding rocker that is almost what I want & the seat/back has light padding if I remember correctly.
