Kodiak Canvans Flex Tents?

I've decided that I might get a tent like this instead of a camper that I'd have to spend lots of money on fixing it up -- http://www.kodiakcanvas.com/--. &nbsp;&nbsp; I'm on disability so my income is very limited.&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp; <br>&nbsp;&nbsp; I also camp off road and use a rechargeable generator. I say "camping" because I spend November-February with my family.&nbsp; I love doing the "rustic" style of living so, as long as I have water I'm good to go.&nbsp; <br>&nbsp;Thanks for any thoughts.<br><br>

As life continues to evolve I find myself downsizing further and further as the months pass by. Having started out with plans of life in a large motorhome, then a smaller one, next was a travel trailer, then building a small trailer, then a cargo trailer. Well I'm back to basics after having explored so many alternatives.

Since we prefeer camping, off road exploring and the back country solitude, we opted for a tent. No trailer to tote and burn additional fuel. A tiny footprint. Easier back country access etc. So last week I ordered the 10 by 14 Kodiak tent. Should arrive Tuesday. Ample room for 2 adults, 2 dogs, and its a 4 season tent. Being on disability it fits the budget as well.
We may actually move into it next month in the back yard while we renovate the house in preparation to sell it.

Is there a tent living section here? Many others gone the tent route?

I don't believe I could do it full-time then, much less now. Old bones need more comfort than that. </p><p style="margin: 0px;">&nbsp;</p><p style="margin: 0px;">Good luck with your plans. I know some here have tents, but as an addition to some shelter on wheels. Well Bob a tent has always been home in one form or another. In my youth the summer was spent in the old greased canvas tents on the San Carlos Rez for 3 months, a little warm . My father and I did this all summer until he was 74, guess it may be in the genes for me! Many weeks in my adult years back packing and tenting it around the country last year at 55. With all the modern gear and technology tenting today is much easier and more comfortable.

I have a Kodiak tent I would consider selling now that I have a camper. They are rock solid. In this day and age of nylon and plastic; this thing is a throw back from a different time with a modern twist.&nbsp;<div>It's nearly new. I used it for a month last summer before freeze up.</div><div><br></div><div>gus</div>
