Purchasing a 1986 Winnebago phaser this weekend. Never owned an rev before so lots to learn. Hubby will go thru it top to bottom and tell me what it needs. My plan is to get it in shape by next summer so I can hit the road.

Welcome to the CRVL forums! To help you learn the ins and outs of these forums, this "Tips, Tricks and Rules" post lists some helpful information to get you started.

Most of our rules boil down to two simple over-riding principles: 1) What you post should provide good information (like your introductory post), and 2) Any response to someone else's post should make them feel glad they are part of this forum community.

We look forward to hearing more from you.

A friend of mine is a semi pro golfer and has owned three of these.   He got a few of his friends including myself to gang up on them and go all over everything so they would be dependable when he
went to tournaments.  They have their "quirks & quarks" believe me.  LOL  But all of that can be dealt with.

What engine does yours have ?   Is it running well when you drive it ?

Since you are new to RV's as his last wife was,  learn about the refrigerator if it is an "absorption" type. (and how it is different than one like at home).   His wife filled the fridge with food and when they arrived at the resort everything in the "absorption" fridge was frozen solid.  Otherwise the rig ran and operated flawlessly.

You may want to check out this forum which is dedicated to rigs like yours.  And at the bottom of this post there are two links.  The one at the bottom is a portal of handy info to make your RV travels safer, more comfortable, and convenient.

All the best !
