Hello everyone,
I lurked for a day and watched some youtube videos of vandwellers. I am currently not going anywhere, but we never know what tomorrow will bring.  I have been contemplating the purchase of a very small camper trailer. I am in my 70's and income keeps decreasing and expenses keep increasing.
I believe in being prepared and have always been independent.  In a few months, eminent domain will be grabbing my front yard within just a few feet of my front door and my mobile home was 80 feet back from the road. I cannot afford to buy another place to live, everything has gotten too high priced. So I am preparing now in case I have to leave here.

I suggest ghoing for a not too old fiberglass travel trailer. You will appreciate not having as much exterior maintanence work.

Welcome to the CRVL forums! To help you learn the ins and outs of these forums, this "Tips, Tricks and Rules" post lists some helpful information to get you started.

Most of our rules boil down to two simple over-riding principles: 1) What you post should provide good information (like your introductory post), and 2) Any response to someone else's post should make them feel glad they are part of this forum community.

We look forward to hearing more from you.

Wow! Congratulations on having a lot less yardwork and mowing to do this summer!

;)

(just looking on the bright side...it helps me get thru life)

yea that sucks. my MIL had a big side chunk of her property taken for a new highway and she is now right next to an overpass and her little house shakes when the big trucks roll by.

selling your property might be hard now too but you can keep it as backup.

So will it be the noise factor for you? But not sure why they grabbed most of your front yard, assuming a road is coming?

If money is truly that tight for you, I would not buy a camper just yet. I would wait and see what goes down with your home situation first. There are tons of small campers out there to purchase when and if you need one ya know.

I wouldn't put big bucks into preparing to leave IF you are not sure you have to truly do that? Or do you want to travel and more? Just sounds like you are spending money before you know the true situation maybe? Just guessing a bit since I don't know your situation LOL If you want a life on the road and not being forced cause of your home situation, then yea shop around and have fun, cause a small camper should be a fun purchase and hitting the road is what we all want to do on this forum :) but if this is just forced, don't spend just yet til ya know more I would think?

best of luck to you.
