I'm looking for one of the jump starter/compressor units with the ability to occasionally run a 12V fan or charge devices.  Also with the ability to be recharged with the 12V cord while driving.  I'm willing to spend money for better quality but every time I look up information on them I keep running into too many comments about how easily they break or don't work.  Does such a unit exist or are they all junk?

The compressor part at least all junk, but would love to be proved wrong.

You can find out the exact replacement lead-acid battery before buying, not deep cycling but usually cheap so just replace every year if you use a lot.

The included AC charger is usually very slow, but then the nature of the battery requires 4-8 hours to get back to 100% anyway, including from DC while driving.

As usual, putting a kit together yourself is likely better *and* cheaper.

The little "lithium" jumpstarter powerpacks are taking over, and lots smaller to carry, so if you get a quality 12V compressor separately, it's probably better to go that way.

IIWM, I'd look for two separate units - a small compressor and a jump start unit.

Like a lot of other 'combo' products, a lot of the two in one stuff does either one well but never both.

When you're looking at a compressor, make sure that you get one that goes high enough for your tires. It's amazing that a bunch I looked at wouldn't go over 50 PSI and so were useless for LT tires.

I think I'm going to get the Jaco boostpro and the jaco compressor.  They look better quality and rating than any of the combo units and seem to do everything I want.

link?
What is the max PSI for big tires?

I'd hold off on the compressor until guys with heavy-duty boondock experience chime in.

100psi
I have a minivan camper  and  a suburban/15 ft tt combo

Could you link to the unit you're considering?

Also duty cycle.  You don't want to spend 3+ hours airing up.

I really can't respond because I have an engine driven air compressor.
