It's not easy breaking free

I hear what everyone is saying about the difficulties of breaking free. We had a realtor come for the first visit last night. What she wants us to do to the house may well cost more than we actually have. Sure we will probably make it back after the sale, but that doesn't do anything about the fact that we don't have it now.

I don't know much about MA. Been to Boston a couple of times. I live in upstate NY. Let me tell you, the taxes here will kill you if you are on a fixed income. My property taxes are almost $4000 a year for a 1K sq. ft house. The same thing in states like KY or TN is about $800. I love the state for its beauty and history, but I can't wait to go on the road and get away from nasty winters and high taxes!

"IanC"? Maybe you could find a balance between what you have and what you want? Just be a part time "Nomad".

2016 is when this was originally posted :)

he had 3 yrs to figure things out and I am sure situations have changed LOL

dragging up very old threads and answering the original question from 3 yrs or whatever time ago just seems.....oh well.....heehee

cool

Roamer,

Your response is why I wish we had the power to close our own threads after the conversation diverts too far from our original topic unless it's a free-for-all, chit-chat type of thread. :)

the OP(Original Poster) can always contact a Mod and have their thread closed. the only time I wouldn't do it is if the thread had a good conversation going with important information being discussed.

I almost closed this one the other day, but I had already closed another long dead thread and requested everybody to let another one die so I left this one. but it seems nobody wants to discuss what is in the thread and only comment on how old it is.

so thread closed.
