Is this a cool concept or what?!

I like this in theory. My thought is it would work best for someone going to one place and not moving for at least a week. For things like traveling from the East to get out West, I would not want to have to open and close it every night during travel. Not to mention drawing attention and taking extra room at overnight stops like Walmart parking lots. I guess you could not pull it apart and just use the bed and leave the other stuff folded up???

But the other thing that would keep me from considering it is the extra stuff that can go wrong. The more moving parts theory combined with Murphy's Law. LOL

Wow! That does look cool, but not sure how practical in daily use. I liked the kitchen setup, but personally would not put my sleeping area in a slide out. Price tag was fifty five thousand pounds ($$$$71,181.00 US Dollars) (!)

Whew. I was blown away for a minute there.  :)

Also would not sleep in a pop up in remote places as I was visited by a large bear in a pop up one time. Yes they can get in there with you. Especially the tall bears with the humpy backs and the big claws. And I still like to go to those places where they live, so... I guess I'm out on this one due to the sleeping setup mostly, but also the price tag. - Crofter  :)

Any "new" van is going to be pricey. Sprinter, GM, etc. in 2017 will have a steep price tag.
Now add in all the cabinetry and bed and kitchen gear ..and these do not seem out of line.
And it sleeps 4. You can stand up in it.

The newest design is usable without using the extension or pop up roof. You access from the large rear door (on the American drivers side).  Certainly not as spacious, but looks livable for seating and cooking.

Innovative.

I think that thing is cool as heck! My dream van (add 4wd and oh man!!!). They do a lot of slide outs on large RV's to increase the interior space (yet can still drive it down the road). Only makes sense to try the idea on a minivan. Sure it may not be the best for stealth camping with the back slid out, but I'm sure you can still sleep in it without it slid out. But once you do some non-stealth camping, plenty of room...from a minivan! Sorry I don't have links available, but I have seen YouTube videos of people that have done DIY slid outs on minivans just like this one (they weren't as nice as a factory one though). I think it's a wonderful design and would love to own one.

I can imagine having such a slide out even for a van like mine.... no pop up but tall van.... but wonderful idea if you have a guest or even a family...put the kids in the back?

I suppose in bear country I just wouldn't put a soft top pop up UP, but this is a bit more structural. ... but in keeping with THAT bear thought, it would need to be fully automated from the inside so if there's a bear out there.... you don't have to go out to close up and go! hahahah

I'm so tall....and gold.... I doubt I"ll do much real stealth (unless it's in the handicap parking spot in town hahaha.... haven't heard of any place that will tow a handicap vehicle legally unless great danger...)

I like that they are always coming up with new innovations and different ways of trying things like this. Sure it won't fit everyone's needs but it will be perfect for some.

As far as bears go, a grizzly can peel a car door off it's hinges like we peel a lid off a can of soup. So, I just accept that good camp/food practices in bear country is my best defense, something that goes flash, bang, boom is my next best defense and then i'm at the mercy of life beyond that.
