It depends on the body style.

The VIN will identify the body style as maufactured.

A cab and chassis can be made into box trucks, flat beds, or RVS.

I have a 1989 E350 Class C, so it's not a van.

Get it inspected by a mechanic who knows hat he's doing.
You may have to spend some money to replace worn parts, the question is how many, and how much. And check the underbelly, to make sure it is not eaten up by rust.
If all is good (I doubt it) they have enough power to haul a lot of stuff. I used to drive an E350 4-car hauler for work, but it was a newer one.

Yes- it's a van. Unless it's a cab-chassis (box truck, short bus, RV), an E350 is a van.

I have an E350 van. It's registered as an RV because of what's on the inside - sink, fresh water, fridge, furnace, grey water tank, propane stove. But, it's a van, just a camper van.

I have an E350 that's a sweet low miles ambo but called a cutaway on the title. No issue getting it titled a motor home & insuring it. It has a 12' Horton box. Watch some of the torture test thhey do, much stronger built than any RV. Prewired, plumbed, heat & air cond front & rear, 250amp alt, 7.3 diesel, a real sweetheart.

E means Econline which is a Van.
B means Bus
C is a TiltCab
L is the fiberglass tilt hood i.e. Louisville
F is a pickup style I believe F stands for Full Sized truck

I am sure there are more.
