hey everyone,Just a quick intro to get going in here. i am a 52 year old working class guy who is about to break free of apartment living here in NYC. i have a 99Dodge 1500 conversion van just dying for me to start living in it. It is completely stock right now but luckily i do not have to make to many renovations. I can park at my job 24/7 and we have showers and toilets and kitchens there, so basically I will just be in the van during my off duty hours. I will be leaving my wife of 15 years soon, and couldnt be happier to be single again. My biggest concern is what do i do with all my stuff? I will probably rent a storage unit and just keep a weeks worth of clothes handy at a time.It is a pretty daunting decision but I feel like its time to stop paying 1300 a month in rent and save it for myself.

Hello and Welcome

I put my excess stuff in a storage unit, it works out pretty well. (Stuff I need, such as a sewing machine, fabric for clothes, out of season clothes etc).

In any case, hello there!

Out on Long Island -- I think "Ridge" -- theres a camper / trailer dealer that has a large yard with used stuff - like a "you-pick-it" junk yard -- there should be stuff there to start your project But living in the city -- you must be well off already
Welcome aboard! Sounds like U have a pretty good deal going, as far as being able to park at work & use their facilities! Congrats!

I had a TON of stuff to deal with! 12 ROOMS full! I sold stuff, trashed stuff, gave stuff away, & stored a lot of it in my little barn. In fact, I just completed the 2-month-long ordeal 3 days ago! Over the next few months I plan to slowly dispose of a lot of the stuff I stored, too.

It's a daunting task, but U just gotta put your head down & plow through it non-stop, like a bull! Good luck!

My god, what better set up can you ask for!!!!
I wish that I had a place to park like that where you don't have to necessarily worry about stealth (especially in a big city such as NYC)!!!

May I ask, what do you do for a living???

Oh, & welcome-
